Ph.D. & Early Career Researchers Workshop

Value-creating board, board dynamics, and the future of corporate governance

Objective

The workshop aims to bring together PhD students and early career researchers working in the field of corporate governance and related disciplines.

The workshop has a focus on value-creating boards and covers but is not limited to the following topics: board dynamics, board leadership, board-management relation, power and influence inside and outside the boardroom, trust, board members’ values, board composition, diversity and board human and social capital.

During the workshop participants will share and discuss their research proposals with their peers and workshop coordinators. The workshop will offer a stimulating and supportive setting to present research, test ideas, and engage in discussions on how participants’ work can be improved. The workshop will be interactive and active participation is expected – participants will be assigned to act as discussants for their peers in a series of small roundtable discussions.

The workshop offers an opportunity to build a network of peers coming from various disciplines, institutions, and backgrounds and to integrate into the international research community.

Application

To apply, please submit: (1) Research proposal/paper outlining your work (maximum of 5 pages) and (2) CV or short bio.

Applications should be sent to workshop coordinator Lana Cindrić, PhD at lcindric@efzg.hr no later than March 1st 2022.

The number of participants is limited so that each participant may get ample time to interact with the coordinators. Participants will be selected based on the quality of submitted proposals and their potential benefits from and contribution to workshop discussions. The workshop fee of 250 EUR covers access to the workshop materials, accommodation at student campus and all meals.
